IKKYU HOUSE
Vertical Green Sanctuary
This five-story residential house is designed with a concept that harmoniously blends modern architecture with vertical greenery, creating a peaceful and refreshing living space within a densely populated urban area.
Main Concept: Vertical Green Sanctuary
The main idea, “Vertical Green Sanctuary,” focuses on creating vertical green spaces that transform the house into a private oasis—offering relaxation and a sense of closeness to nature on every floor, even in the heart of a bustling city.
Key Features
Vertical Garden Facade: A highlight of the design is the dark-toned louver panels that serve as a structural framework for lush vegetation, bringing life and a sense of eco-friendliness to the façade. The vertical garden not only enhances the building’s aesthetics but also helps reduce heat from direct sunlight and purifies the air for the residents.
Modern Architectural Style: The building features clean, minimalist lines with a striking contrast between white tones and dark louvers, creating a sense of strength and modernity. This contrast adds depth and visual interest to the overall structure.
Natural Light Utilization: Tall and wide windows allow natural light to flood into the interior spaces, while the louvers and greenery act as filters—softening the sunlight and enhancing privacy for the occupants.
Balance Between Privacy and Openness: The architectural design incorporates projecting structures and louver screens that provide privacy from external views, while still allowing residents to enjoy open sightlines and scenic views from within.
