Project 35

RENOVATION PROJECT - 4TH FLOOR BUILDING

Modern Thai Pavilion

This building stands out for its distinctive blend of modern architecture and a contemporary interpretation of traditional Thai roof design. Therefore, the concept behind the extension and interior design of the 4th floor focuses on continuing this architectural identity while enhancing functionality to support a truly relaxing lifestyle.

Main Concept: Modern Thai Pavilion
The main concept, “Modern Thai Pavilion,” envisions the 4th floor as a private retreat elevated above the city—maintaining the grace of traditional Thai architecture while harmonizing with the simplicity and modernity of the existing structure.

Extension Design Features
The 4th floor is designed as a light and open structure that contrasts gently with the heavier mass of the lower floors. Large glass panels and wooden screens are combined to allow natural light and ventilation while preserving privacy and maintaining unobstructed views of the surrounding cityscape.

To strengthen the connection with nature, balconies and terraces are introduced around the 4th floor, allowing residents to enjoy the breeze and panoramic views. Small potted plants and greenery are integrated to enhance the sense of calm and liveliness.

A reinterpretation of the traditional Thai gable roof is incorporated as part of the new addition. Its form and color are carefully selected to complement the existing green roof, creating a cohesive and harmonious overall appearance.

Interior Design Concept
The interior atmosphere emphasizes tranquility and relaxation through the use of natural tones such as white, beige, and light wood. The furniture follows a minimalist yet functional style, reinforcing a sense of simplicity and comfort.

The layout is designed to be flexible and multipurpose—able to adapt as a family living room, a private workspace, or a meditation area, depending on the users’ needs.

Natural light plays a central role in the design. Windows and openings are strategically placed to create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow throughout the day, giving the space a sense of life and serenity.
